A Word

From Our Executive Director

At the Literacy Council, we believe that literacy changes everything; it strengthens families, opens doors to opportunity, and builds more connected communities. Every day, we see the power of reading, writing, and learning to transform lives. From helping parents read with their children, to supporting adults learning English, to empowering young people to pursue their dreams, our programs are built on one simple idea: everyone deserves the chance to learn and thrive. Our success is made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the resilience of our learners. Together, we are creating a community where literacy is not a barrier, but a bridge, connecting people to education, employment, and hope.
